Autism AwarenessApril is the official Autism Awareness Month. For the past week Dane, Grace, and I have been working on celebrating and appreciating Autism. We have teamed up with Student Council for this project because me and Grace are both members. We told our teachers to pass out coloring pages to their students and at the end of the day we went to pick them up. During class we go downstairs to decorate the front lobby of our school. We also made a poster for students and brought it to lunch for students to sign and show their support for Autism. We chose to pass out puzzle pieces because they have a significant meaning in the autism community. They reflect the mystery and complexity of the autism spectrum. The different colors of the puzzle represent the diversity of the people and families living with the condition and the brightness of the ribbon signals hope.
